Hello,
a customer reports that his Outlook has "deleted almost an entire folder by itself".
There is a complete backup of Xeams.
The folder has now been saved again. It's a sub-sub-folder of the inbox.

Is the following way of recovery correct?

  • Navigate to the corresponding folder in the backup under "UserRepository",
  • Copy the .edt, .hdr and .xdt files
  • Paste these files into Xeams under "ProcessingMessages"
  • Restart Xeams

Does Xeams also file the e-mails in the right place?
What happens if identical emails already exist?

Thanks!

Till from Germany

Till,

Copying files from UserRepository to ProcessingMessages will not work. ProcessingMessages folder can only accept *.EML files.

Instead, follow the steps below:

  • Archive whatever emails are left in Outlook
  • Restore files in the UserRepository Folder for this user
  • Remove the account from Outlook and add it back in.

Thanks very much! This way works.

The Outlook account did not have to be removed, Outlook loaded the data after a short delay.

I accidentally deleted an XDT file.  I still have the EDT file.  Is there a way to rebuild the XDT file or import the email from the EDT file without the XDT file?
