Since junk mail filtering is not available in the community edition doesn't that mean there is only 2 modes of operation ? How does spam firewall work without filtering ?

Or is the lack of filtering for community a typo on the website ?  If not then I don't really see any point in the community edition other than as a 30 day demo.

I'm reading the same thing. with the communicty edition it say you do not get the spam filtering. which have the happy face, good email, red which have the bad email. So I guess I'll find a alternative.

Dont worry, in fact there is only one mode - stand alone. Hybrid and spam firewall are not available because junk filtering is not included in community edition... hence one mode.

They were thinking really hard how to get money from us and they came up with the most stupid way...

Nimer,

Besides filtering, you can use the 3 modes for:

  • Archiving
  • Indexed Searches
  • Routing emails to different machine
  • An alternate IMAP/POP3 clients

Please contact us via email if you do not agree with the new pricing model and will see try to work something out.

we can contact you for a deal ?  it looks like your pricing and politic are really bad if we have to negociate. Even if it cost time and money I guess lots of people will use other products.

Dont get me wrong, but (http://xeams.com/3Modes.htm) your knowledgebase is showing something different:

  • Stand Alone mode
  • Spam Firewall - clearly not available in community edition
  • Hybrid mode - "This is a combination of mode 1 and 2." - Since spam firewall is not available there is not much to combine with in the first place.

But just for the sake of argument, lets say there are two modes.

I could understand limiting features as clustering, AD, domains, policy management, but something that basic and needed as spam filtering? These days you are supposed to filter spam before gets into your infrastructure, not when in gets in your network, vm and say xeams. Thats really old fashion way, but for smaller companies its the only way. And now you are asking for price that brings nothing new or better with comparision to cloud filtering spam? Maybe i will contact you, but seeing the current base price for the amount of users i have, i dont think there is reasonable way to work this out.

Best regards

Dear Nimer,

We completely understand your problem. I definitely encourage you to contact us.

As far as pricing goes, we did not have a choice. The only other option was to layoff all of our employees and abandon the project for good. Besides, we have priced Xeams very aggressively. In fact, let us know if you find a competing product that is as good as Xeams (not just filtering but everything from Live Monitoring, Live Logs, web interface, reports, etc...). Many folks compare Xeams with out-sourced services, which is completely different and has privacy issue.

Hello,

I've been using Xeams for over a year.

Great product but I do not understand the new licensing mode or pricing.

I have 1309 of Unlimited users... and just filter incoming email as spam gateway.

Does this mean Xeams will stop working i about 28 days?

thanks in advance

Ronny,

First, I strongly recommend referring to http://www.xeams.com/user-license.htm to see how "Actual user" count is calculated. Additionally, we will be releasing another build next week that will let you know the exact values of these users.

I am pretty sure you don't have 1309 users - meaning either Xeams is counting emails for invalid users and/or you have "Associations" that are not configured correctly.
