How to upgrade Xeams to the latest version
Using the latest version of Xeams is very important. The latest version gives you the most up-to-date features and often addresses important security vulnerabilities. Using an older version leaves you open to attacks from malicious users. Refer to the change log to get a detailed version history.
Auto Update
When the auto-update feature is enabled, Xeams running in your environment will automatically download necessary files. Once the files are downloaded, you will receive an email at the administrator email address. Restart Xeams after you receive this notification.
Visit Server Configuration, select the Advanced tab, and check Enable Auto-Update to enable this feature.
Updating from the web interface
When auto-update is disabled, you must update Xeams manually. Click Home > Server Options > Check for Updates to update Xeams manually.
Firewalls
Firewalls often prevent Xeams from downloading binaries from Synametrics' website. In such cases, you must download the files manually as described on this page.
Optionally, you can configure your firewall to allow the following hostnames to go out on ports 80 and 443 so Xeams running on your end can reach our server.
- www.xeams.com and xeams.com
- www.synametrics.com and synametrics.com
- s3.wasabisys.com - This is a third-party cloud storage provider that Synametrics uses to store static files.
