Hi,

New user.never setup a mail sever.

i got everything setup and the only problem i cant solve is client cant send email to xream server.

scenario..

i can send a email from outlook  email account and i recieve it in my xeams email inbox(also added to outlook).

i cant send a email from my xeams email from outlook(stuck on sending)

i never see the email arrive in xeams to be sent to to outlook server.

when i added my xeams email to outlook i selected advanced and used my domain for inbound and outbound.

tried both imap and pop3

login seems fine(i can see successful login in the logs)

probably something stupid i'm overlooking.

Sorry to hear you're running into this problem. Hopefully, my response will be helpful.

Outbound emails from Outlook to Xeams (or any other email server) are sent via SMTP. Therefore, POP3 and IMAP are irrelevant. Try the following steps:

  • Go to Server Configuration/SMTP Configuration
  • Ensure the second port is listening on port 587. Leave the primary on 25.
  • Configure your Outlook similar to the following image:
  • This means Outlook will communicate on port 587 to send outbound emails. Initially, use "None" for Encryption method. Once you configure Xeams with SSL, you can switch that to STARTTLS.
