Hi,
I have been tasked with migrating an organization's Xeams from a Windows based machine to Linux. I have the new installation running and copied all the required configuration files and it appears to have picked them up. However, it seems before I can continue with verifying the configuration, as I did not copy AppConfig.xml, I need to register or enter the serial. The organization has an enterprise license. Is there any issues with entering this information so I can continue with the configuration verification. The goal is to do this with as little downtime as possible; so I'd like to get the new machine as ready to go as possible before we switch the DNS information over. Thanks, -Jay |

Jay, Go ahead and start Xeams on the new Linux machine. When you first log in, it will prompt you to register. Finish that registration page. Once the initial registration is done, click Tools/About Xeams. Click the Modify link to change the serial number. Then, copy/paste the serial number from the older machine to the new one. Send us an email if you don't have the older serial number.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't sure if they "called home" for validation. Most enterprise level software I've done has pretty strict processes for this. I believe I have everything I need but will have someone reach out if I don't. |
