User Associations

Associating users is a convenient way of letting Xeams know a single user has multiple email addresses. Consider the following scenario where you have two domain names for your company and a user named John with multiple email addresses.

  • John@yourcompany.com
  • John@yourothercompany.com
  • johnny@yourcompany.com
  • john.doe@yourcompany.com
In the above example, every email address belongs to John therefore, it makes sense to associate these addresses together.

Benefits

  • Reports are consolidated - Xeams will automatically bundle these addresses together when generating data for quarantine reports.
  • Log in - Data for every associated address is available when a user logs in using the web interface
  • License - All of these addresses are counted as one user, hence they only consume one user license.

Important

It is very important to ensure only one user's email is associated. For example, associating John's address with Mary's account will create problems. Mary will end up getting John's emails.
