Importing/Migrating emails from IMAP/POP3 servers

Users as well as Administrators can migrate emails from other IMAP/POP3 servers into Xeams. This wizard is very helpful when trying to bring user's emails from any other email server.

Prerequisites

  • You will have to run Xeams either in Stand-alone or Hybrid Mode. Click here for details.
  • You will need to create local users in Xeams before using this wizard.

Steps to Import

Importing Email as an Administrator

  • Log in as admin
  • Click Tools / Email Import Wizard
  • Fill out the values on the following screen, which holds the parameters to connect to any IMAP/POP3 server
  • Select the folders you would like to import
  • Select the email account of the local user
  • Optionally, select if you want to delete messages from the source server.
  • Click Import once done. Xeams will now pull emails from another IMAP/POP3 server and save them to John's account

Importing Email as a User

Assume, John who is a local user in Xeams, wants to import thousands of emails stored in different POP3/IMAP server.

  • Have John log in to web interface using his credentials
  • Click Import Wizard under the Home menu
  • Fill out the values on the following screen, which holds the parameters to connect to any IMAP/POP3 server
  • Select the desired folders to import
  • Click Import once done. Xeams will now pull emails from another IMAP/POP3 server and save them to John's account
