Connection URL often depends upon where the user is connecting from.  Certain firewalls do not allow users inside the LAN connect using the FQDN typically used from the Internet. That is the reason why Xeams allows changing the URL on a per user basis rather than setting everyone to the same value.

We recommend you specify the correct value for Preferred URL under Server Configuration. Users will inherit their connection URL from this value.
