How to Hide an SMTP signature

Often, administrators want to hide the SMTP signature presented to a sender when a new incoming email is received. Use the following instructions to accomplish this task

  • Ensure you are using build 5775 or above
  • Login as admin to the web interface
  • Click Server Configuration
  • Select the tab for Advanced Configuration
  • Add a prefix called HIDDEN: before the value for SMTP signature.

For example, if your existing signature is

    mail.yourcompany.com,

    modify the value to say

    HIDDEN: mail.yourcompany.com

  • Save the settings

My bad: If you add HIDDEN: before the signature, it will remove the version and even the xeams info... great job!

Hi, This enables me to change the signature, that's good, althoug I could change that on my mailserver. Yet it does still add the xeams proxy version, and if (no offense) some kind of exploitable leak is found in the xeams proxy, hackers are now aware of the version and build of the sofware. Why not opt to hide it all? On an unrelated note: great software, I love it!!
