Hi i am facing some issues on the xeams which installed on centos 6 (32bits) on

Version 6.6 build 6008

after upgraded to the above version i cannot access to the xeams web gui, and i have tried all sort of solution with no success including doing the manual patched and change back to the default port which is 5272 from my own network port which is 23002 also cannot helped, and i have no choice to reinstalled to downgrade to version 6.3 and then able to access but this i need to redo the settings and less features, so could you please resolved the issues thanks, as i suspect is the latest files which you have released on october 11 2018 got some issues.

Jian contacted us via email besides posting this message. Before we could reach him, he had already downgraded Xeams to build 6000 by restoring his VM and therefore, we lost the logs. However, we asked him to upgrade again and it went fine. According to his last email, he might have typed HTTP instead of HTTPS in the browser's address bar.

A note to Michael and Carsten. Please refer to Xeams.log and let us know if you see any errors in the log file. Please contact our support via email if you cannot see any obvious errors in the log.

You can always try patching it manually by following instructions on http://www.xeams.com/ManuallyPatching.htm

I now have the problem that I can not mark email as good or junk.
I can set the hook but by clicking the button mark as good or mark as junk the display jumps back without doing anything. But the Restore button works.

I am, at the moment, talking to support.

 

It seems like Xeams uses 20 minutes to start, with empty mail-folders, An with just Octobers mails in the folders, it has not startet yet, after 45 minutes... - Seems like som db updating has startet to be VERY VERy slow.

We have discovered a problem with the latest build that causes Xeams to hang during startup. It only happens if outbound port UDP 123 is blocked by a firewall. To fix, please download http://xeams.com/files/Xeams.jar and place it in the $INSTALL_DIR/lib folder.  You will have to stop Xeams before replacing the file.

Carsten,

This is happening on your end because while trying to figure out what was wrong, I thought your database got corrupted and therefore, I asked you to rename that folder. You have once of two choice:

  • Don't do anything. You did not lose any emails. You will still be able to search the messages. 
  • Stop Xeams and put the original DB folder back

and the xeams version 6.6 build 6009 after numerous restart trying to battle the issues it finally has been resolved and it is now back to normal operation.

Summary of What Happened

First, I wanted to thank everyone for being patient while we were trying to solve this issue.

This problem only occurred on machines that block UDP port 123 either at the machine or network firewall level. We were not able to reproduce this problem in our labs because this port was never blocked. Identifying and fixing issues that only happen in certain environments usually takes some time. This one kept us up all night :-)

I did it as mentioned above, but xeams is still unreachable after update. I'm running Xeams on a QNAP without container.
