Cheers,

I have installed, configured and used Xeams on a QNAP NAS for a couple of years, and it is pretty good (can't beat the price! ;-), but there is one issue I cannot figure out how to handle:

Two months ago I had to change the IP address of the QNAP NAS - so far so good, with an updated firewall and hostname for the client to resolve, everything seemed to work as before... But...

When I get a "Summary email report from <daterange>" mail from the Xeams server, and there are messages that have been classified as spam, I used to click on the "Restore" link (if it wasn't spam, right...) and do the administration regarding restoring/whitelisting from there, but the link has maintained the old IP address, causing a 404.

I can change the IP address in the link afterwards, but would of course like to fix the root of the problem, so:

How/where/why/??? does Xeams decide to keep the old IP there? How can I change this?

Kind regards,

Niels

Niels,

There are two ways to change this IP:

  • Using the Web Interface. Go to Server Configuration and specify a Preferred URL for your Xeam's web interface.  Second, modify users (Server Configuration, Manage Users and Edit) and specify the correct IP address for Server's Host Name.
  • If you have too many users to modify this setting, you can do it from the back-door using the following steps:
    1. Stop Xeams
    2. Edit $INSTALL_DIR/config/UserConfig.xml file
    3. Find/replace older IP with newer IP
    4. Restart Xeams

It takes both IP/hostname as well as a complete URL
