Many thanks for the reply.  I'm only running this in this one instance for now, and there are no other users, so I'm not worried about the open relay issue for now.  I have set the ip address of the printer to be accepted for relaying.  Live monitor shows success but no email is recieved in my gmail account.  I must be missing a step - how does xeams connect to the internet?
