Analyzing Inbound Messages

Starting from v6.9, administrators can analyze incoming messages, which dissects the message header and gives useful information such as:

• The Sender's IP
• Value used for SMTP Envelope MAIL FROM
• Value used for the FROM header. Click here to learn differences between Envelope and header FROM.

Additionally, it checks if:

• A PTR record is correctly defined
• HELO string value is correct
• If SSL was used for delivery
• Reply-To value is different from sender
• Confirms if SPF, DKIM and DMARC was used

How to Analyze

• Log in to the Admin Console as admin
• Click on Message Repository and select any inbound message
• Click the subject to view its contents
• Click the Analyze button.
